Auto muting audio track when I turn on automation button Garageband

beginner/Help

Im trying to mix a song right now. I pressed the individual track automation button to add automations to vocals, then I try to play my song and the vocal track mutes automatically. Even before I've added any automations I press play and the track mutes. Its weird because when I press the unmute button while I'm playing the song the track is unmuted?? When I go to download it mutes again. how do I fix it?
