Form fill font on iPad files turning white

I’m using the autofill forms feature on my iPad Pro, and the font keeps switching to white. I will select black, and it goes back to white. It looks like it’s choosing black + fully transparent. I cannot get it to stop doing this. It takes about 3 tries to get the entire document to save with black font. It will be black, then when I save the file it turns back to white.
