Time Capsule (old)

I have an older time capsule that has been in storage. It contains all the photos and videos from when my now adult children were little kids. I am desperately trying to access those files and move them to an external hard drive. I have successfully linked the airport base to my computer via ethernet cable and can see the base in airport utility. However, for the life of me, I don't know where to look or what to do next to actually see and access the files on it. I am a complete novice, so please use layman terms for my next steps. Please and Thank you for any help.
