I am not able to send WhatsApp messages via Siri after iOS 17.4.1 update

Siri problem

Hi there,

Using 14PM on latest iOS 17.4.1 and WhatsApp latest here in UK.

I’m no longer able to send WhatsApp messages via Siri. This was very handy whilst driving. I’m trying to figure out what caused this? I have factory reset the phone totally and setup from scratch and Siri still comes up with: I’m having trouble/having a problem, please try later or similar errors.

Can someone please tell me it’s not only me?

Just Say; Pic 1: Hey Siri, Call "XYZ" on WhatsApp.

Similary Pic 2: Hey Siri! Send a message on WhatsApp.

This happens to me also. It started like a week ago. I also have a problem using shortcuts for sending WhatsApp messages. I think it’s an app related problem, as I’ve searched google and there are Reddit posts talking about it from like 10 months ago.

Seems like it’s the latest version of WhatsApp causing this. I asked a friend to update his WhatsApp and it stopped shortly on his iPhone too. He’s on 17.4.1 and had an old version of WhatsApp working fine previously. I tried reporting this to WhatsApp via their chat support and did not get anywhere with them unfortunately

Apple should at list acknowledge and notify their users that this specific last version of WhatsApp on App Store is buggy, so we don’t update and face issues.
