Can you make slurs and ties in garageband?

So i’m trying to recreate a song in garageband and there is a bass part where it goes up an octave using a slur, i've tried maybe changing the velocities but the bass sound that im using (it is a custom sound) just doesn't work right with changing the velocities. If anybody knows an answer that would be greatly appreciated.
