Motion 5: Document could not be opened

Hi,

I worked on a Motion project a week ago and saved it. Now I tried to continue, but it doesn't open again.

I get the error mesage: Document could not be opened.

The previous version of the project that still opens only contained footage stored directly on my hard drive. I then added footage directly from the Photos media library. Don't know if this is somehow connected.

I would hate to have lost hours and hours of work. Can anyone help what to do?

Does Motion have Full Disk Access?

If not, then it should: System Settings->Privacy & Security->Full Disk Access

If Motion is not there, and with the button turned on, click the + sign at the bottom and add it.

Thank you! Indeed, that did the trick.

Which is really strange, because:

All the previous versions of the project are located in the same directory and can be opened without issues.
Motion actually wrote this version of the project on to the disk into that very same directory originally.

Very strange macOS behaviour.

But anyway I'm relieved it works again.

I am glad that this is resolved.

The difference appears to be that media from your Photos library.
