I am unable to open a pre edited pdf on Apple Books app

I have been using this pdf since about 10 months on the iPad Air (5th generation ) iPad OS Version 17.5.1.

Today I did a lot of markup, that is, highlighted and made a lot of notes in the pdf itself. I left the iPad for some time and when I returned I saw that the pdf wasn’t opening.

“Unable to open the Document”. This pop up kept coming every time I tried opening it.

How can this problem be resolved??

I need to open the pdf at any cost.

I even tried opening the pdf in other platforms using share pdf option but it didn’t work.

Can someone please help !!!!!
