BT CLOUD CLOSING DOWN

BT have announced they are closing BT Cloud and we will lose all stored items after October 2024. We should download from the cloud to the computer all items stored. I have cloud installed on my MacBook Air intel I5 and Mac Mini M1 and had a lot of photos and documents stored in BT Cloud. I have found the BT downloadable help pages to be very poor explanations and lots of the links they give just don't work.

I have attempted to install BT Cloud on my MacBook Air M2 Sonoma 14.5 so that I can download all my saved stuff from the cloud. I have printed out the "Download your files from BT Cloud" instructions (for Mac OS) but they are just very poor nonsense and the links just do not work. The instructions of what to do are very vague and I just can't make head nor tail of how to go about it. They talk about using the "BTCloud desktop app" but I can find no clear way to find that app and the link given does not work. The further instructions are so simplistic and just do not explain how to "install the BT Cloud desktop app" or how to "download with the desktop app". So where is the mysterious desktop app??

I have apparently downloaded the BT Cloud app on MB M2 and it is appearing in my Apps folder but trying to open it leads to no clues as to how to use it. On my MB Air intel I5 a totally different screen shows with at least some clue how to use the system and with a drop down menu.

I spent a considerable phone call time with BT trying to get an answer but the lady could only go round in circles and get up the pages I had already printed out and was as mystified as I was and in the end was unable to help.

I would be most grateful for a step by step "how to" guide. I have only a certain amount of computer literacy so the simpler and more detailed the instructions the better including screenshots of what to expect to see for each action.

Thanks

Dennis

I imagine you have already gone here:

where they have a link to a Mac BT Cloud app.

All of us have had the telephone runaround from the telephone company and other great bureaucracies, but but few of us will have dealt with BT. I swear, when we moved to London for a year ages ago, in order to get a phone we had to prove our address by showing our phone bill. Huh?

Posting here may grab the attention of another Brit with some knowledge, but maybe not. I think you're right to post everywhere you can, and hope you find someone who can help.

Good luck!
