Is there a way to ensure the documents folder shows all files unhidden and not greyed on iCloud?

I got a new MacBook Air M1 and logged into my account where all my documents are backed up. However, all my documents seem to be hidden, I have tried to unhide and they just appear until I restart my Mac. is there a way to ensure the documents folder shows all files unhidden and not greyed?
