Data from Contacts App Disappears
This has happened to me repeatedly over the last eight months or more, where data that I have input to a record remains present for a few hours and then (usually within 24 hours) disappears. To be clear, this is data within a record, this is not an entire record disappearing.
An example of the issue for me would be the following:
1) I click on the Edit button for a contact which already has existing phone numbers and text in the Notes field.
2) I add a new phone number to the phone field
3) I add some more text to the Notes field
4) I click on the Done button
5) The changes to the record appear as normal until sometime generally within the next 24 hours the changes I made will disappear.
This does not happen every time. But it happens often enough that I'm losing important data, and I've gotten into the habit of taking screen shots after I edit a contact. Taking the screen shot allows me to verify if anything has disappeared, and then replace what has disappeared.
This issue is not tied to a specific record, this has happened on multiple records. It has occurred as often as three times within the same week. What is more concerning is the extent of the problem. I have a lot of records, and I don't know how many records this is happening to.
This happens across all my devices. All devices are on the most recent version of their respective OS's. Time and Date settings are on Auto, and I've verified that they are correct.
I suspect this is an iCloud issue. I'm hoping someone may have a solution.
Apple, if you're reading this, I have screen shots which I would be willing to share with you showing the presence of newly added data followed by a later screen shots showing the data has vanished.
