Is there a free app I can use on iPhone and iPad for my dyslexia?

I am looking to read a book on the Apple inc. books and I can’t add the colour I normally use. I am looking for a FREE dyslexia application to download for my IPhone and IPad.

Hi Liamlumber10

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.

Sorry I don't personally know of any apps that may suit your needs.

If you have a specialist helping you with dyslexia, they may be able to suggest apps that suit your needs.

Else:

If you wish: Try opening the App Store on your iPad, and putting "dyslexia" in the search bar.

Any apps that have a "GET" button are free apps.

You can find out more about any app by clicking on it's picture.

(Eg: There's often a review or two from those who use, or have tried, the app.

Note: Some apps are free to download, but may require in-app purchases in order to use all the features.)

If you decide to try an app: You can click an app's "GET" button to download it.

Eg: I tried searching for dyslexia the App Store on my Mac, and quite a few apps appeared.

Several appeared to be useful, although some seem to be created for other purposes, like speed-reading.

Also: If needed: you can:

If you are willing to use a text-to-speech app, I've been using an older version of Speechify for macOS to read long-form texts to me. See https://speechify.com/ . I can use any of the System voices with it. For any text I didn't finish it remembers where I left off.

Oddly enough, it doesn't work for all User IDs on my MacBook. I'm not sure why.

It's also available for iOS and Android. I think there are browser extensions too.

The developer said that he created it to help him get through college, because he was dyslexic.

Does using a font like OpenDyslexic or Dyslexie help at all? Although I'm not sure if the Books app lets you select just any old font you've downloaded.
