Apple Approval Notice text message scam

I believe this is a scam. I did not call but others say it is.

Received text message:

“Apple Approval Notice

We have noticed that your Apple iCloud id was recently used at "APPLE STORE - CA" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold.  If NOT you? talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call +1 805366**** immediately to cancel this charge.

I DO NOT believe that this is my purchase!!! Who is trying to access my money???

I’m on a fixed income and certainly don’t want to buy anything !! I know I DIDNT purchase this whatever I was billed for!!!!

I Just got one today during the Thanksgiving meal. I agree these criminals must be stopped.

I literally got same amount and text only thing different is the phone number it makes me wonder if the scammers put their efforts in to something proactive the world would be a better place

I just received the same text I called the number but no answer was I not suppose to call it

I got the same message but it came as a text message on a thread that I was on through apple support app. Do how is that possible?

And it's still a scam.

I received a text message that I was suspiciously charged $143.95 at an Apple Store. The number to call back is 1**************9. I’m guessing this is a scam
