iCloud occupying most of the Macbook storage (>200GB) when the iCloud is only 17GB

Previously I backed up my iPad with some large app data that I forgot to exclude, so my previous iCloud storage was occupying up to 190GB of data, I went back and deleted the backup from iCloud and re-backup with a smaller size, which is 17GB, and now the iCloud from all my devices and the web version tells me that the iCloud drive is 17GB. Meanwhile, my Macbook storage still shows that iCloud Drive is taking 224GB.

I went into the terminal and located the ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Clouddocs and checked the size (sudo du) but it shows that it only occupies 48MB. I also cannot find the .Trash folder other people mentioned here. Any opinion or solution about this?

This crashed my Mac since it maxed out my storage, appreciate any help.
