I want to rent a movie that only Apple is streaming,but it wants me to “ open in Stan or MGM”etc I can’t afford to join all these other streaming platforms. My tv is just a smart tv that has all the apps available .What is the point of Apple app if redirecting to other services? it didn’t used to?any advice would be appreciated 🙃

Apple TV has its own content (Apple TV+) and also serves as an aggregator service that allows you access to a wide range of libraries. The TV app has included such options for some time now.
thanks for reply…so i do have to join all these other streaming services , even if just a trial? If I wanted to buy it 🤷♀️ ? not very good with all this,but learning…ps:it was easier working in video/dvd store 😉🙏
If the item is available for purchase or rental through Apple, you can do that but likely not through your smart TV app; that would need to be done on an Apple device.
🙏 I know that…I will just trial Stan etc then cancel after watching movie! ( this seems counter- intuitive as Stan gets nothing )!
