Move the folder to a location that is not synced with iCloud. For example, open a Finder window and move the folder to your Home folder (locate the Home folder via the Finder menu item "Go" and then click Home or use the Finder sidebar and click the item in Favorites that has the house icon; if that item isn't in Finder Favorites, go to Finder menu > Settings, click Sidebar at the top of the Settings window and then put a checkmark in front of the item with the house icon).
