If I save documents from my old computer to my iCloud Drive, will I be able to transfer it to a new computer?

I have a new computer ordered. Currently have a 2013 iMac that I have updated the IOS on a few times and it just has a lot of old apps etc. on it, so would rather not set my new Mac Studio up with the old computer but it does have things on it I do want to keep. I have scanned many things to my iCloud Drive. I am wondering if I can transfer files and photos to my iCloud Drive and then would I be able to access that iCloud Drive and put them on my new computer? Also wondering about saving emails?

Congratulations on getting a new Mac!

When you sign into your iCloud account on your new Mac the iCloud Drive folder on the Mac will sync with iCloud and draw down your files to your new Mac.

Read Apple's iCloud Drive support page for further information: Set up iCloud Drive - Apple Support

Similarly with email - you use Apple's Mail or any other IMAP account - Gmail for example - it will sync to your new Mac.
