Unable to install “Books”

I used to have issues opening books on my phone using Apple Books. They would not download, or would say that the file is not in a format that Apple Books can open.

Out of frustration, I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it, hoping it would solve the problem, but I kept getting the ‘Unable to install “Books”’ prompt.

I tinkered around, went in to iCloud settings, under the Manage Account Storage section.

There, I noticed that there were two Apple Books data stored in iCloud.

I deleted the much smaller one (which didn’t seem to be connected to the version of Apple Books I used) and tried downloading the app again.

It worked to get the app downloaded, but I’m tackling the in-app download issue now.
