Downloading iCloud photos to Macbook

Does anyone know why iCloud photos are not downloading after selecting a certain amount of photos and clicking on download?

  • Internet connection is secure
  • I have restarted several times
  • Low battery mode is turned off
  • There is adequate space on my macbook
  • Software is up to date

After clicking several times, sometimes it starts the download but other times not. Can anyone help?

Select photos in very less number and then click on download .

You have to set up photo library Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support and its preferences Change preferences in Photos on Mac - Apple Support and designated the photo library System Photo Library overview for Photos on Mac - Apple Support .
