Selective Piano Roll track not playing notes when moving them. (Yes the midi out light is on)

Logic Pro 11.0.1 on base model M1 Mac mini Ventura 13.5.2

With an instrument selected and the Piano roll open it will sometimes (quite often) not play any sound when selecting or moving a note. Yes the green Midi Out button is illuminated. If I select the previous track and return to the track I’m working on the sound will return. Also if I play a note on my midi keyboard the sound will return when moving a note. In both cases there is a very small single click when playing a note or selecting a different track as if something is being turned back on. Hitting play at any time will play the recorded midi as normal. Sometimes when the sound returns it only plays a reduced version of the note (sustains become staccato). It always seems to happen on just one track, the others appear to be working normally. If anyone has any wise words of wisdom I’d be very grateful.
