Icloud : Impossible to move files from Icloud to an existing folder on Icloud

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to organize my files on my Icloud, and I'm having issues.

It's impossible for me to organize my files on my Icloud, as I can't copy files in folder when I create one in it.

For example : In my Pages folder I have tons of Pages and Pdf Files.

If I create a folder inside Pages and want to copy a file in there, it doesn't work. It's as if the folder was an ordinary file.

If I select a bunch of files (mixed pages and pdf) and right click, I have the opportunity to create a folder with all these files in it. But afterwords it's impossible to add new files to that existing folder.

It's a real problem for me, as I need to organize my Icloud files to be able to work effectively and stop losing time when I'm looking for one.

I would really appreciate if someone could give me hand as I'm dealing with a lot of files and need to clarify that to be able to start working.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Th.

PS : My computer is an M1 Mac Mini 16go running Ventura 13.6.1

I'm not sure I get it. iCloud Drive is just a folder on your Mac, just like any other folder. The only thing that makes it different is that all of it copied to iCloud. I can open a folder in my "iCloud Drive" folder, create a folder, and move files and folders around, exactly like any other folder on my Mac.

Is your Pages folder a folder that you created? I'm concerned you might be talking about Library folders.

How is your disk storage? Do you have 20% free?

You say you "want to copy a file in there," can you explain what you mean? You want to duplicate the file? You want to copy it to the clipboard? Inside a folder in my iCloud folder, I can use ⌘-C to copy a file to the clipboard, use shift-⌘-N to make a new folder, and ⌘-V to paste that file into the new folder. Is this what you mean?

Let us know some more details...
