iPod Photo flickering white screen

I bought an untested iPod Photo knowing it would have some issues. After charging it for an hour, it turned on and seemed to have no problems, but it lost its charge after 20 seconds. Charging it right after put the iPod in a boot loop, and at that point, I decided to just leave it plugged in overnight. Now it doesn't respond to any button inputs, and anytime it's plugged in the screen flickers white briefly before going blank again. I would imagine one of the components got fried, so I want to know what part to replace.
