Two progress points

For a couple of years I’ve been having problems while listening to audio books. It seems to remember and keep track of two different progress points of the book. Pausing or restarting the app sometimes sets it to the first or the second listening to one en progressing from that point will also progress the second so it will never catch up. Reinstalling iPhone iPhone does not help, et even migrated from my old iPhone to the new. Does anyone know what this is or how to get rid of this problem
