IPhone 15: Voice control issues Apple store

I've been using voice control for a long time and always have an issue when downloading new apps from the App Store. When I am prompted to enter my password voice control does not populate the keyboard to enable me to select each letter and number. I have to resort to using the grid method to select each letter/number. Does anyone have any solutions to this?

Am no expert in this area, yet your request surely deserves some response.

Here are a few suggestions, some may, or may not, help.

Wondering if it helps if you say "Spelling mode" before dictating the password, character by character.

(You probably know that in Voice Control you can use "Dictation mode" "Command mode" or "Spelling mode"

When you’re working in a text input area—for example, writing a document, email, or message—you can easily switch between three modes as needed:)

More info: See: "Switch between dictation, spelling, and command modes" in the article below:

or

You could try saying "Press the key m" (= m) "Press the key shift m" (= M) etc. to enter the password

or

You may want to set up a Custom Command to help you enter the password

Else: you may be able to change the settings so you don't need to enter a password (see below)

___________________________________________________________________________________________

You can customize your preferences for the App Store in Settings, (or turn settings off, download, turn on)

It is optional to require a password, FaceID, or TouchID, on your iPhone or iPad.

or you can choose to download the free apps without the password.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Choose your name.
  3. Choose Media & Purchases.
  4. Choose Password Settings, then choose the setting that you want.

If you don't see Password Settings, you have turned on Face ID or Touch ID for App Store and iTunes Purchases. To change this, go back to Settings, tap "Face ID & Passcode" or "Touch ID & Passcode", then turn off

Face ID or Touch ID next to iTunes & App Store."
