Logic Remote not showing Logic Pro mixer faders accurately

Using latest Logic Remote and Pro Mac on Mac Mini 2020 - when I start Remote up it doesn't show the correct settings on the faders and balance pots and actually seems to be off - for example, if I move fader 1 on Remote fader 3 on the Mac moves instead... this makes Remote useless... any ideas on what can be done to fix it?
