Assistive technology: what to do when the number overlays don't cover every element on the screen

I am trying to play a New York Times game, but the numbers overlay that I use to navigate the screen will cover only one or two elements. I have had this problem before, and have managed to resolve it with multiple efforts to log on and instruct, "show numbers repeatedly." No dice tonight.

Hi madoneg,

Wondering if using the "Grid" overlay would be more helpful ?

Eg: Apple's online (3.45 min) video demonstrates ways to use the overlays:

How to use Voice Control on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch :

All the best :-)
