Found this on another thread How to Stop Battery Draining on iPhone After a Recent IOS Update and it's been a game changer, battery which was reducing 20 to 30% in 1 hour of basic usage now reduces only 15%. I will update you on which adjustment helped alot as I am currently testing on it as I don't want to disable some features so will update soon here.

For me the problem is really caused by the calendar app in combination with my Exchange account.

The screenshot shows my iPad Pro (12.9", 6th generation) battery before adding my Exchange account (before 9pm, or 21:00 in 24h-time), then after adding the account and actively using the iPad (from 9pm to 10pm or 21:00-22:00) and finally in standby (after 10pm or 22:00). It drains approximately 50% in 6 hours of standby. Once I turn off my Exchange calendar synch (Mail, Tasks, Contacts do not matter), I again have several days of standby battery life. Removing and re-adding the Exchange calendar or Exchange account as well as restarting do not help. Only if I keep Exchange calendar synch turned off does the problem disappear. But given that this is my work calendar and my work iPad, not synching is not really an option.

After the hassles with overheating and several battery drains each day following IOS 18, I was looking forward to 18.1 as a fix. No such luck.

My battery can go from full to less than 40% in no time - several times a day. It still overheats frequently. When the two combine I'm then stuck with a phone that won't charge because it's too hot.

I've turned off every possible setting. I removed widgets. I've removed and minimized all app permissions and settings with no success.

When I check battery usage, I see my Home & Lock Screen has 40+% usage. Never had that issue prior to this update. I have Always On Display turned off. Already mentioned deleting widgets. My brightness is not high. It really makes no sense.

I'm beyond frustrated and I feel my phone has been seriously downgraded since I can't use it how I have in the past or want to.

Apple should and can do better. I've lost a lot of trust and will no longer be an early adopter of updates.

10/18/2024 - iPhone 14 Pro ios18/18.1 - So after trying everything possible to fix the crazy battery drain issue...

Using my MacBook Pro (Windows PC will work too), I backed up my iPhone, put my iPhone in recovery mode, did a factory reset and then restored with my latest backup. Absolute game changer....my battery is back to normal and lasting a full day easily. This corrected my issue and hope it does yours

iphone 16 pro on iOS 18.0.1

Same issue of battery drain. Specifically, 6mins of activity on the home screen was recorded every 1 hour as per the battery usage data. This drained about 30-40% of my battery overnight.

Also per the battery usage data, over the last 10 days, 34% of all battery usage was on the Home screen.

Yes me too facing the same issue. The battery is draining out like anything. Battery which used to come for two days on low power mode is not even coming for 24hrs even. Am very much disappointed as i have bought my phone just a year back and facing this issue so soon because of this update. Apple which stands out for its features and technical capabilities is disappointing customers to loose the trust on the brand. :(
