The Cmd + Tab shortcut doesn’t work since the update to Sequoia

figure'd I'd post again since there are so many nay sayers on this thread. I went back and retested myself and I can no longer reproduce it. I haven't had it happen in some time. I haven't really mucked with anything I'd expect to touch this and haven't removed anything.

Not sure why it was so easily reproducible before, but not now.

Luckily log in and out was a pretty consistent fix and, while annoying, is less annoying on mac than pc.

This still doesn't work in 15.4.1. It seems that CMD+TAB focuses on the application but doesn't switch the view to that application. It doesn't matter if the application is full screen or not, I cannot get any application to be switched to correctly.

after screensaver preview no more cmd+tab and also cmd+space.

As of January 2025 this is still an issue. Not only command-tab, but nearly all keyboard shortcuts will randomly stop working including command-space, and shortcuts for screenshots.

Sounds like third-party system modifications interfering with normal functionality.

This happens quite frequently after a clean install of macOS 15.2 on an M1 Pro. I mostly notice it when trying to copy/paste between apps. I hit cmd+c, then cmd+tab and nothing happens :) This is so annoying after decades of doing it smoothly across many systems.. The second attempt usually works. No, this isn't either my external or internal keyboard issue, not my fingers, not external monitor (happens both with or without Apple Studio monitor connected..)

I just updated to Sequoia 15.3 today and immediately started having this same issue, both with Cmd + Tab and with Cmd + c & Cmd + v. Issue persists after multiple reboots, and after running First Aid. So frustrating, it makes the computer feel almost unusable I use these shortcuts so frequently.

I've seen you consistently dismissing this in the forum. Maybe instead of telling everyone they don't have a real problem, ask yourself if that's helpful. You're just creating noise and are 100% wrong. This is a real issue that people are experiencing. LOTS of people. Just because it's not you doesn't mean it's not happening.

It still seems that, as I noted already, all you need to do is go to System Settings->Desktop & Dock, and CHECK this box:

I have the same issue. I noticed this when previewing a screensaver. Like yourself, I have to either restart or logoff to get it back.

I can't reproduce the problem on my installs of Sequoia 15.2.

I still don't have the problems.

15.2 here. honestly I am surprised this bug has been here for so long. MacOS quality has been constantly decreased.

+1 I have three Macs running Sequoia 15.2 and don't have the problem neither. :)
