Unable to switch apps in my iphone 13 pro max after upgrading to iOS18

While using phone (i-phone 13 pro max) earlier it was super smooth to switch between apps and executing multitasking even by single hand, but after upgrading it to iOS 18 I am unable to switch between apps - need to do swipe multiple times (at least 3), sometime need to hold mobile in one hand & using another hand finger need to do swipe. Everyday getting irritated while doing multitasking on my iphone. it's annoying. What software glitches has been introduced in iOS18.. only apple can explain, because hardware of i-phone 13 pro max already is best one. If Apple is not able to resolve such issue in next upcoming upgrade, then need to sell this beast and need to move on Samsung S series because at least those devices work very smooth even after 6 years.
