Calculator Functionality Change After Update

I've encountered an issue with the Calculator functionality following a recent update on macOS Sequoia 15.0.

Previously, when calculating percentages, the app would display the percentage value before showing the final result. However, after the update, it now skips directly to the final answer.

This change requires me to perform an additional step: subtracting the total from the dollar amount I'm calculating the percentage on.

Has anyone else experienced this change in behavior? If so, is there a way to revert to the previous functionality or a workaround to streamline the calculation process?

Thank you for your insights and assistance.

I HATE this change!!! I used to love it displaying the percentage amount before the final result.

It now makes invoicing twice as long. SO ANNOYING.

Apple, please revert it back to how it was!

No, he wants to see the value of the Percentage amount. In your equation the value is 5.
Useful for when you get a bill at a restaurant and it has tip amount section.
You now have to do
100-5%=95
100-95= 5 to get the 5 value of the percentage amount

I understand that. But I was just saying I don't blindly trust a calculator. I always estimate the result beforehand so that I can validate the result. I have no need for the changed value. I certainly wouldn't break out my MacBook to calculate a tip amount, even if I couldn't calculate it in my head.

Worst change to make. It’s annoying to not have a clear button. Who wants to backspace everyone you need to use it.
Press and hold the button and it will clear all.

Does NO ONE ever read the release notes when installing a major update to any software?

This is a classic case of “if it’s not broken - don’t fix it”!!!

The corollary is “If it is broke, FIX it"

Also, a translation: "If it works the way I want, it's the way it should be. If it works the way other people want, it's broken and they are stupid."
