Destination files are not highlighted after click & drag/copy on my mini mac

My destination files are highlighted for a short period of time after click & drag/copy to a new folder on my mac mini. But after moving several folders it suddenly stops highlighting the moved folders and only the previous folder remains highlighted, leaving me with no other option but to go through and search for it. Why is this happening, and is there a fix for the problem? I am currently running sequoia 15.0, which I just updated to, hoping that would fix the problem, but it did not.
