I can no longer “search” in photos. For example if I wanted a photo from my photos that had something specific like a pumpkin, I could type in pumpkin and all photos I had with a pumpkin would pop up. Now since the new backup, it no longer does it😖 Anyone else hating the way they changed photos. It’s not user friendly to me AT ALL.

Below procedure worked for me so try this:
“The detection process requires iPhone to be locked and connected to power. Depending on what tasks are running in the background and the size of your photo library, the process could happen quickly or take up to a few days to complete”
I was wirelessly charging my iPhone 16 Pro for over 2 weeks and the photo search function still wasn’t working. After coming accross the above information, I used my usbc charging cable and physically charged the phone overnight twice in a row, the search function started working the next morning. So I guess the phone does require to be physically connected to power in order for the phone to learn your large photo library. Hope this helps.
Have you found a fix for this? I still cannot find anything. I did a search just trying to find a picture of my dog which we take tons of pictures. It tells me no searches available. You can type sky blue no matter what you do you cannot get a picture to show up anymore they absolutely destroyed photos if nobody’s found the solution are you putting your photos somewhere else that actually works? I’m just tired of the fight with Apple ever since I tried to go into the AI business. ? As everyone else, cannot search for photos AT ALL anymore, I can type in a single letter before comlleting a word and still will show no results. Even my named photo albums are not found when I search! Yet the magnifying glass for a search is still there, so why can’t it function?! I tried updating, turning off and back on, plugging several nights in a row to charge instead of wireless charge: NOTHING!!! I already hate the new interface but this makes it so infuriating! Way to go with going backwards in “progress” AGAIN Apple! I would like to know if there’s anyway of going back to the old iPhoto, this is just the absolute worse! I really hate using iPhoto’s now. I think I’ll be ditching iPhones for good at my next phone change if this doesn’t change soon. I can’t stand it! Who the **** does the testing and analysis, and decide that this is a good idea as a change?! They need to be fired. This is just ridiculous.
Using the search option in photos is a complete joke. Useless at this point. I will search for a specific image like white flowers, and a couple of the same flowers may show up along with several images of text. None of the many other flower images I have. The more they attempt to integrate AI the worse everything gets.

im here trying to find a photo of my birth certificate and it’s no longer popping up. I have 2 different kinds and in the beginning I saw one but it wasn’t the one I wanted , I now keep typing Birth certificate and neither the one I want or did t want shows up anymore . And to see all of everyone’s comments and Apple has yet to response is ridiculous to me . WTH Apple !?

apple needs to fix this, my phone is not as useful without being able to search dates, citys, descriptions etc. like the search feature stopped working over night couple weeks ago.

i just updated to the latest 18.3 and have lost photo search, which I use a lot and was just using yesterday before this update. I HATE THAT THEY MESSED UP PHOTOS SO MUCH!
HOW do we get them to put it back !!! This is horrible ! I depended on it for fast lookups for work !!
