Why do I have iCloud symbols (cloud/cloud w/arrow) next to Google Drive folders?

I'm using Google drive on MacBook Air Monterey 12.7.6 (21H1320)

The "keep files on local disk" option is switched-off since I'm not having enough space, but I downloaded few folders I need locally (the "offline access" option on Google Drive).

The question is that I'm somehow having the iCloud symbols next to all folders in Google Drive - a cloud w/arrow or a cloud, or a circle if I press the cloud. I don't see any system in which is assigned to which folder. They are both nxt the offline and online folders on Google Drive.

I don't see Google Drive folders anywhere in the iCloud folder, I don't see Google Drive in the iCloud apps in Mac Settings either.

  • Why could that be and what does this symbol mean nxt to a Google Drive folder?
  • Can it affect my Google Drive synchronisation? I have a feeling it messes with it, specifically with shortcuts, but I'm not entirely sure..
