Apple music playing while conmected to drum

I’ve been trying to connect my electronic drum audio to my mac and ipad using a 3.5 mm jack and trying to record audio, but when i play for longer than 4 seconds or so apple music opens up and randomly plays one of my songs from my playlist. I have already used this method before and it hasn’t been a problem until now. Can anyone help me with it? Thanks
