thumbnails in your Apple TV movies and home videos

I have the same problem. Since IOS18 there are no thumbnails on my Apple TV app on my iPad. Now with IOS18.2 still nothing has changed. Actually it's quite frustrating and there's obviously no way to change that problem so far.

If there's any help, please let me know!

I can not tell you in words how frustrating this is. It’s ruined a good many weekends for me as I get ready to pick from my library and all the thumbnails are missing. Then if I’m lucky they start popping up one at a time as long as that section is on the screen. This makes me worry that if I keep adding to my movie collection of now 800+ it won’t be able to handle them.

It’s truly worrying to me.

This issue is in my iPhone 15 p.m. in iOS 18 the thumbnails were partially missing, and now after 18.0.1 complete away. Videos does play normally, but thumbnails seems to be gone.

I had this same issue with blank thumbnails appearing in my Apple TV 4K movie library. My case was related to the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) settings on my home router. Normally DHCP server settings on any router assign IP addresses to various network devices "on the fly". However, you can actually assign a reserved IP address to specific network devices and still use DHCP. When I created a DHCP reservation for the assigned Apple TV's IP address, my library's movie thumbnails populated normally.

The thumbnail problem was occurring on the Apple TV 4K's movie library, not a computer. Since IP addresses for network devices (iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc.) are assigned on the home router, this was just a suggestion to maybe look into it. It worked in my case but it might not be the answer you need. Hope the issue eventually resolves for you.

After the patch 18.1. only half of thumbnails are missing..

That´s weird - I have basically all setting as they are factory settings. But yet cannot to do anything to improve this thing..

Same here - only a few thumbnails (randomly loaded every time the app restarts) show up in the TV App on my iPad.

Can't seem to get around it.
