Apple TV stuck spinning adding user

I just removed my ex from my Apple TV and am trying to add myself as primary user via my iPhone. I suspect I moved my phone too far away after I started the add user process and the Apple TV has been stuck on this screen for a long time. I have already tried turning off the Apple TV but when I turn it back on, the same screen appears. Thanks in advance for any help
