10th gen iPad microphone issues PSA on screen protector

Am grateful for the advice received here, and just wanted to reiterate:

if you are purchasing a recent iPad, careful with your choice of screen protector. Right off the bat I noticed issues with voice memos, Siri, and being heard and hearing my wife who had the same audio issues in her iPad on FaceTime calls. It turned out the $89 screen protectors we were recommended were covering the front-facing microphone on the new 10th gen’s we bought. Once removed, all audio issues were resolved.

from Apple’s Support page, which also shows you the location of the front facing microphone:

If your voice sounds muffled on iPad Pro (M4), iPad Air (M2), or iPad (10th generation)

If your voice sounds too quiet, or muffled, when you play back the videos you recorded using the Camera app, make sure that the microphones on your iPad aren't blocked by your hands or a case. If your iPad has a screen protector, make sure that the screen protector has an opening over the front microphone.
