Anyone using a 27" 4K monitor with a M1, M2 or M4 Mac mini?
I haven't used a monitor in over two decades, but I've just bought a 27" MSI Modern Pro 4K display to pair with my M4 Mac mini, which I'll buy in the near future. At the moment, I'm using it with my 2018 15" MacBook Pro, with a Retina display at 2880x1880px. From what I've gathered, this MacBook Pro doesn't quite match the display capabilities of the new Mac mini, at least according to the specifications.
So, I'm reaching out to those of you with M1 or M2 Mac minis and 27" 4K displays. What resolution do you find works best when the display is at arm's length? Mine is positioned a bit further away, at 80cm (31.5"). I'm currently experimenting with the best resolution for this MacBook Pro, which is set to 4K, the native resolution for the monitor.
The menu bar appears rather small, but I can read the text quite comfortably from this distance, including in the drop-down menus. It's a shame I can't enlarge it a bit more. At this 4K resolution, I tend to set websites to 150% or 175%, depending on the site.
Ultimately, I find the middle resolution of 3008x1602px to be the most suitable for the MacBook Pro with this monitor, although macOS warns that it might impact performance. How does it fare with the M1, M2, or M4 Mac mini?
