unable to accept new icloud terms and conditions iPadOS 16.7.10

New iCloud Terms and Conditions message says I must accept new terms etc. I click continue and get Cannot Complete Action message stating “This action cannot be completed at this time.” Only option is to click OK. Restarting iPad changes nothing. iPad 5th generation; iPadOS 16.7.10.

Hi All

I have now (as requested by apple support, followed the steps at this link:

Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings using a computer

INCLUDING FIRST TAKING A BACKUP.

I now have a fully working iPad with no request to approve terms and conditions.

That would assume that Apple actually cares about their users. It doesn't really, as has become clear to me as a user of multiple devices that I bought because the hardware is really good.

The above error is going to happen on all devices that Apple has decided to label as "legacy", i.e., they won't support them even though they're working just fine. So, you have to buy a new gadget. Since iCloud is so crucial for most iPhone users (think backup or even moving to a new device) or for WhatsApp, which you cannot move across platforms and cannot backup onto anything else, then it's more or less blackmail that Apple is carrying out here.

Don't expect any pro-active support.

Also having the same issue, and as you have all found, the only solution that gets mentioned is to upgrade your iOS. Like most of you I am the max I can upgrade to on my iPad Air 2. Oddly my iPhone is a lower iOS and it's not asking me about T&Cs at all. Would be great if could just be accepted online, but I've not managed to get the pop up when I log into it on safari (although I've not tried another browser to do this, did anyone else?)

Appreciate this is the same as everyone else, just hoping that a volume of comments may get noticed by Apple to address this for us all.
