Hello,

I need urgent help.

It has been for months that when I use an effect this message appears; sometimes it appears after hours, sometimes as soon as I open the application.

At the moment I close and reopen the application to continue editing but it is quite frustrating; on top of that I have a lot of frame drops and lagging playback.

I have FCP 10.8.1 and Sequoia 15.0 on a Macbook Pro M1 PRO and Mac Mini M2 PRO

Whenever something inexplicable happens, deleting the application preferences is one of the first things to try.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting the application and click Delete Custom Settings. The application will start with default settings and open an "Untitled" library. Adjust the settings, reopen the library you were working, and see how it works now.

I'm on FCP 11 (latest version) and I still have the same problem, this started from the fcp 10.8 update, it's a shame since the fcp 11 has some cool new features. this problem occurs randomly when I import a video and add ANY effects (3rd party or first party) the same error appears.
