At the moment?
My main SSD is telling me I have some 120gb of free space on my 256gb SSD.
Disk Utility and OmniDiskSweeper are telling me I *actually* have some 45gb.
Yesterday, they were saying I had around 60 to 70gb, free.
What on EARTH is happening?

In APFS it depends where and what specific figures you are looking. macOS also periodically cleans old snapshots and caches.
Keep in mind that only Disk Utility can accurately report actual available space.
I’d guessed *something* like that was happening, @Matti.
As my system usually resets itself after a re-start.
But this seems persistent.
