Problem send gmail from my laptop. Okay on my iPhone. Can receive mail okay.

When I try to send an email I get a message saying "Can't connect to account "gmail" and it asks me to enter the password for "my name". When I enter my Google password I get a message saying "unable to verify account name or password" even though I'm using the password I just used to log into my Google account.

Thanks Leroy. I didn't know that was available. It turned out the outgoing mail account was set to gmail (offline) rather than just gmail. I'm not sure how that happened or why there is an option but making the right selection fixed the problem.

Sounds like it solved your problem.

Not sure why the Knowledge Base / Help Topic removed reference to the Connection Doctor:
