Shortcut iphone (IOS 17.6) makes audio recording into mono

I have a shortcut set on my iphone:

Play - specific track from 'music' app apple

Record audio -

Save recorded audio to 'dropbox' folder' -

Get content https link into notion

Issue I'm having is when the shortcut hits the 'record audio' option it converts to mono (I can hear it because the track changes from stereo to mono monitoring) and the audio gets recorded into mono.

I'm on bluetooth headphones. I tried plugging a wired headphone via mini jack to lighting adapter, no audio passes into the mic (seems like when a wired heaphone is plugged in, the mic input gets highjacked)

I've looked all over setting theres no option to change 'record audio' shortcut option from mono to stereo and vice versa (mono to stereo applies to voice notes or camera).
