Passwords Edge extension not working after update (26100.2454)
After Windows 11 update 24H2 (26100.2454) iCloud passwords in Edge browser stopped working. I click on the extension and it tells me I need to download iCloud for Windows to use passwords. iCloud for windows is already installed.
I checked around for a solution and didn't find one online. I did get it to work again via trial and error.
What finally worked for me:
- Sign-out of iCloud for Windows
- Goto Settings -> Apps -> Installed Apps -> Search for iCloud.
- Click the three dots and select Advanced options.
- Scroll down and click the reset button.
- Once reset, open iCloud for Windows and sign-in. You will need an Apple device on the same network to pass MFA.
- Open Edge and click on the Passwords browser extension right of address bar. You should get prompted for the OTP that pops up in windows.
- Complete the OTP and Autofill should start working again.
