"MacBook Air making noise - getting overloaded: Hi, I have noticed that when I spend a lot of time on video calls in zoom or my in something like google drive it seems to almost 'overheat' my MacBook Air. This has been happening for quite some time. I aim to update it regularly. Sounds like it's motor. Any advice?"

Troubleshooting Overheating Mac:
If it sounds like a motor, then it seems your drive is reading/writing quickly, or the internal, builtin fans are spinning. So, it may be a hardware issue. But, before making that assursion, thy singling thing out...
A. Try Safe Mode:
In Safe Mode, login items do not run, and corrupt system files(i.e. caches) are intentionally reset as a way to fix issues. Go here: Start Up your Mac in Safe Mode - Apple Support
B. Single-Out this User:
Try a pre Administrator user, seeing if you do not get this occur while in it. If so, then it is an issue with the configuration of the current user. If not, then it is an issue with the entire Mac, in which case you should reinstall the macOS. See below...
