Unable to change card details in payment method in Apple Account

When I put in the details of my card , it adds it and then puts on a loading screen . Then takes me to another screen and it says the payment method has failed . I think click on it and see it is changing the expiry date of my card and won’t let me change it to the correct the correct date .
