Wireless Continuity Camera not working alongside wired Sidecar

I understand that wireless continuity camera will not work when wireless Sidecar is on.

I've now wired my iPad to my Mac Mini for sidecar (I don't use the iPad for anything else so this keeps it charged and improves the Sidecar performance as well as overall network performance).

I'd now expect wireless continuity camera to work with my iPhone. However the Mac doesn't see the iPhone at all. I've tried using FaceTime, teams and Google Meet and in different browsers but it never shows up.

As soon as I wire my iPhone to the Mac it works.

There's contradictory advice online about this - in some places it says it works and in others it doesn't.

Apple's advice is "To use Continuity Camera wirelessly, your Mac must not be using AirPlay or Sidecar." which taken literally means any form of Sidecar will not allow CC to work regardless of it being wired or wireless.

The reason for my post is I'm holding out some hope that someone might have a workaround that allow some to use wireless continuity camera with wired sidecar.
