Apple Maps taking odd routes

All of a sudden Apple

Maps is taking odd routes to destinations I have gone to before. It seems to randomly take me off the highways for no apparent reason. I checked the settings and I don’t have the avoid tolls/highways on. How do I solve this? This has happened in both my American 16Pro and European 14Pro devices in the last couple of weeks. So it doesn’t seem to be a device issue?
