CarPlay phone connection issues

My 2021 Tundra’s multimedia unit has suddenly developed issues with phone calls. The caller on other end says my phone and cuts in and out and it’s impossible to understand me. I’ve tried all sorts be useful techniques here.

I’ve also seen some small icons screen flashing (not apps icons).

tundra software up to date. All CarPlay apps work most of the time but one occasionally gets stuck like a bad connection.
