Ending a phone call started before connecting to CarPlay

When I’m on the phone and then get it my car, it takes a minute but ultimately connects to CarPlay. I notice 1) the caller ID of the person I’m on the phone with doesn’t show up on my screen in the car but the actual phone number vs if I called the person after entering the car 2) I can’t hang up the call from my dashboard screen. When I hung up from my phone it still shows the phone call is active on my car dashboard. Per my car dashboard I’m still on the call long after I have hung up. The only way to clear this is by turning off my car and leaving the car for an extended period of time.
