Can I restore lost iTunes music after moving to new PC

In process of moving files from my old PC to my new one, most of my iTunes music disappeared (thanks, OneDrive). Once my new PC is up and running, can I just sync my iphone via iTunes for the missing songs to download?

No. iTunes does not copy files from a device back into iTunes.

On your new PC, copy the files from your old computer to the new one. Preferably, copy the entire Music folder, including the .itl file, which holds all the additional information about your music that is not contained within the files itself (i.e song ratings, last played, playlists etc.).

If you have purchased music form the iTunes Store, remember to sign into your iTunes store account so that your purchases can be validated on the new PC.

Ordinarily you might have copied your content over a local network rather than trying to use OneDrive. If the data turns out to still be there on the old computer see Move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Community.

Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - Apple Community if the content is on your iPhone, and that would be easier than re-ripping CDs. The easiest method may be a temporary subscription to the Apple Music service, merging the music on the device into an iCloud Music Library which you then download to your computer and backup for security.

Thanks for the quick response. I do have the remaining music files on my old pc, which I will copy to the new pc. But I cannot find more than half of my music on my old pc. They disappeared when I attempted to move them onto OneDrive. Can't find them anywhere, even recycle bin. Looks like I need to get out the CDs and install them via my old pc while I still have a CD drive available.

Thanks again.
